The Big Idea

Stop now,
Open your eyes,
Can't you see it?
All the bright light,
It's all around us,
If I can hear you,
See you,
In all this light,
The world can't be all bad,
Right?
Wrong.
Because a million things could
 happen between now and
  tomorrow,
I might sleep and dream happily.
What if I never wake up?
I might smile and laugh.
What if I choke?
I could blink out of habit.
What if I'm blind the next second?
Because the world tries to play
 fair,
But in the end it's not,
Because the world isn't
 always beautiful,
It lies and hides the truth,
It cheats you out of everything
 that matters,
And it steals those we love,
This has never been a secret,
It's not unraveling as I speak,
It's just a challenge that
 we face,
Something we must live through,
And if it's possible at all,
Live your life to make the most
 of your time,
So that if all else fails;
And believe me, it might;
At least you did your best,
To beat the world at it's own game.

The Wrong Turn.

Aim for the sky,
Yeah I remember those words,
But somewhere on the way,
I took the wrong turn,
And now I'm heading down,
Even though I know,
Soon I'll hit the ground.
So I think of ways to stop,
It's a pity I've no wings,
Just one of many things
 that didn't work,
And I can taste my tears
As I fall head over heels
Into the abyss of all
 my fears
Realise that someday,
One day this could be you,
Losing all your grip on life,
Not knowing what to do,
Yeah I thought the sky
 was up,
But it looks like I was
 wrong,
All I see is blue,
I was so sure I was
 Falling Down,
But I must be going up,
Past all the clouds,
Level with the stars,
Until I hit some pearly gates,
And I think,
This can't be right;
I took the wrong turn.
