I can see them breathing,
Chest slowly rising,
Then falling,
They can't feel a thing.
And they're lucky,
'Cause it looks painful.
It seems calm in the room.
Until the creature stops breathing.
Quick!
Please.
Do.
Anything.
We're lucky this time.
Their little body spasms with adrenalin.
They breathe again.
Thank you.
I can feel tears in my eyes,
But I bite them back.
My legs shake and my arms feel heavy,
I don't faint,
But my dreams are crushed;
I'm not cut out for this.
